Toronto-based Romspen Investment Corp. recently granted developer Yehuda Netanel a $60 million construction loan for the Lake District project, which should cover the 140,000 square feet of retail space that makes up the first phase.

The overall project is set to include 280,000 square feet of retail, 65,000 square feet of office, two hotels, and 580 residences — split between apartments, townhomes, and single-family homes.

Lakeland’s commissioners expect the first phase to open by Thanksgiving.
