After more than a decade and a half of anticipation, Lakeland is on the brink of witnessing a long-awaited transformation. The ambitious Equestria residential project, which has languished in the pipeline since 2008, has finally cleared a significant hurdle. In a momentous decision on Thursday, Feb. 15, the Lakeland Board of Commissioners narrowly approved the outline plan for Equestria by a vote of 3-2, albeit with a couple of stipulations.
Nestled on the picturesque landscape along Memphis-Arlington Road, adjacent to the thriving neighborhoods of The Grove and Oakwood Grove, Equestria promises to be a beacon of modern living sprawled across 86 acres. Spearheaded by Renaissance Development LLC, the project envisions 119 meticulously designed homes, with a substantial portion of the land set aside for lush open spaces, offering residents a harmonious blend of urban comfort and natural tranquility.
