The Lakeland Commons mixed-use project that was designed in the mid-2000s is set to begin construction as soon as March of this year.

Phase 1 of this project began last year and has consisted of infrastructure work in and around the Seed Tick Rd/US 70 intersection in preparation for the building construction for this project. Phase 2 marks the beginning of the building construction. Recently, building permits were pulled by the contractor indicating that construction could begin as soon as March.

The plans for Phase 2 of Lakeland Commons include 138 apartments/flats, a community clubhouse, and over 20,000 square feet of retail space.
