Collierville reappointed Maureen Fraser as vice mayor on Monday, Jan. 10, continuing her run as the person to fill-in for Mayor Stan Joyner when he is absent.
The board unanimously affirmed Fraser’s nomination made by Alderman John Worley. Fraser served in the role in 2006 and 2008, and she’s been reappointed annually since 2012.
“Looking forward to continuing to serve our amazing residents as the vice mayor,” Fraser said. “There is no place better.”
Choosing an alderman for vice mayor is a routine vote by the board. In late February of 2020, Mayor Stan Joyner spent a Monday evening Downtown at Shelby County Commission fighting against the Quinn Ridge development in Collierville’s annex reserve area. Due to the length of the meeting Downtown, Fraser chaired the Board of Mayor and Alderman meeting in Collierville.
Fraser, a local realtor, is in the fourth year of her fifth term on the board.
