Germantown Alderwoman Mary Anne Gibson will seek reelection for a third term in November, she confirmed Wednesday morning.
The Shelby County Election Commission finance portal showed Gibson filed a financial disclosure report Tuesday. Contacted by phone Wednesday, Gibson acknowledged she would seek the Position 2 seat in the suburb’s municipal elections.
There are two other Board of Mayor and Aldermen offices on the Nov. 8 ballot — Mayor Mike Palazzolo and Position 1 Alderman Scott Sanders. Two school board races also are on the ballot.
Palazzolo announced in November 2020 he would seek a third term as mayor. Sanders, who retired from the U.S. Marshals Service, is still considering options for the upcoming election. He hopes to make a decision soon, he said by phone Wednesday.
All of the offices are for four-year terms.
“It’s been an honor to serve these past years, and I look forward to the future for Germantown,” said Gibson, a local real estate agent with The FIRM.
Aldermen unanimously appointed Gibson as vice mayor in December.
Norris McGehee, a local veterinarian, will serve as Gibson’s campaign treasurer.
