This year’s recipient of the Bartlett Area Chamber’s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ is Brad Kellum, Founder and CEO of Buff City Soap.
Each year the Bartlett Area Chamber recognizes one of its local businesspersons for their ingenuity and success in a highly competitive business environment.
This year the Chamber is proud to announce Brad Kellum as this year’s winner. Brad took a relatively simple commodity, body soap, and created a demand by offering a unique and affordable product. What started as one tiny store in the Bartlett Station area is growing into a multistate franchised enterprise with all its raw materials still being warehoused and distributed from Bartlett.
Creativity, vision, passion and fortitude are all necessary ingredients of a true entrepreneur. However, none of these will guarantee success without applying sound business fundamentals. To turn a dream into reality is the definition of an entrepreneur. Anyone can come up with a good idea but only a few can develop a sustainable and successful business model.
In conjunction with Brad’s receiving the award, his long-time companion and business partner, Jennifer Ziemianin will be a co-recipient.
“I remember when they opened their store just down the street from our office and the staff members would take turns shopping at the “soap store”. I knew then that they had something but, quite honestly, I didn’t know it would go this far.” Says John Threadgill, BACC President. The Bartlett Chamber is very proud of what Brad and Jennifer have been able to accomplish, and it is another confirmation of the entrepreneur spirit that is alive and well in Bartlett”
The award will be presented at the Chamber’s June 11 Membership Meeting at the Bridge at Bartlett Ballroom 6001 Bartlett Center Dr.
