Millington is in line for one of its largest new commercial developments.
Developer Tom Marsh is planning to build hundreds of apartments, three hotels, six medical office buildings, more than 100,000 square feet of retail, and an assisted living facility on more than 100 acres in northern Millington. The property is located just to the east of the Millington Farms shopping center Marsh developed in the mid-2010s, which includes a Lowe’s, Ross Dress for Less, Huey’s, and more.
On Wednesday, March 18, Marsh is set to appear before the Shelby County Commission’s economic development committee, to ask for a 20-year TIF (tax-increment-financing) incentive for the project.
The TIF, which has already been approved by Millington, is set to provide Marsh with $15 million for infrastructure improvements.
If approved, the TIF would be Millington’s second such incentive. The adjacent retail center Marsh developed was the recipient of its first.
