Carriage Crossing Welcomes Six New Tenants Following Successful “Pop Local” Contest
The owners of The Shops at Carriage Crossing organized a contest to entice small businesses to become the latest additions to the suburban retail center. Originally seeking two tenants, they were delighted to discover that the competition, known as “Pop Local” and organized by Edwards Realty, attracted a total of six diverse businesses, ranging from entertainment centers to new dining options.
Edwards Realty has previously hosted this contest for local entrepreneurs in their other shopping centers. However, at Carriage Crossing, located on Houston Levee Road near Tenn. 385, they received an overwhelming response, with over 200 applications, marking the highest number of entries the company has ever seen across the four markets where the competition took place.
Ramzi Hassan, President of Edwards Realty Company, explained, “After conducting a thorough review of our finalists, we decided to select six businesses due to their exceptional preparedness and compatibility with our retail space.” The selection process involved Edwards Realty announcing the finalists, conducting a showcase day for them, and inviting the community to vote for their preferred businesses.
Now, Collierville can look forward to the addition of six new businesses:
1. Bare Fruit Acai Bar, located next to Kathy’s Nails, adjacent to Rack Room Shoes and Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Bare Fruit specializes in fresh, customizable food options.
2. Poppz Drinks & Sweets, positioned on the opposite side of Kathy’s Nails, neighboring Carrabba’s. Poppz offers custom-made drinks and sweets tailored to individual preferences.
3. L.Y.E. Academy, a dance studio, just a few doors down from H&M and Jumpin’ Jellybeans.
4. Nerd Alert, a retro arcade, opening next door to Milano’s Pizza, around the corner from Bonefish Grill and Stix.
5. One Cozy Home, a home decor store, opening next door to Forever 21, near Sephora.
6. Slimetastic Kids Play Lab, a children’s activity center allowing kids to create and play with slime. It will be located near American Eagle and Finish Line, across the parking lot from Torrid.
Each of these six Collierville businesses will receive a $5,000 grant to kickstart and enhance their entrepreneurial endeavors, in addition to three months of free rent. They are set to open in November, December, and January, giving them the opportunity to capitalize on the bustling holiday shopping season.
