Arlington High School Celebrates 20 Years of Impact

This year marks a significant milestone for Arlington High School as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. Alongside this, Arlington Community Schools proudly reaches its 10-year mark. Arlington High School opened its doors in the fall of 2004 when the town’s population was approximately 3,000. By the time Arlington Community Schools was established in 2014, the population had grown to nearly 12,000, and today, it stands at an estimated 16,000. Building Arlington High School

The story of Arlington High’s development is a testament to community effort and strategic planning. Former Millington city manager Ed Haley, who served as Arlington’s town superintendent, was instrumental in securing the land for the new high school. With the collaboration of Shelby County Schools Superintendent Jim Mitchell, Haley managed to piece together 68 acres for the school’s construction, a feat that involved contributions from local property owners and the town itself.

Crye-Leike Real Estate Services played a crucial role by selling part of their land for the school’s development, which subsequently brought attention and commercial growth to the area.
