A Tesla service center and/or store appears to be charging toward Memphis.
The California company that makes electric vehicles and other green-energy products had not responded to a request for information by Friday evening.
The site at 3020 N. Germantown Parkway, inside Bartlett, exchanged hands for $4.55 million. The property involved is at least 9.2 acres, according to property records.
The site is within a row of “Wolfchase” branded car dealerships north of the Wolfchase Galleria.
Businessman Anwar Aman in October bought the closed Hyundai dealership property, and sold it late this week to a Denver-based entity called Drake Motor Partners Memphis LLC.
Barry Maynard, vice president of brokerage for Gill Properties, represented the seller, Aman. Maynard told The Daily Memphian that he is confident that the end user of the property will be Tesla.
